are gone. We, people of the 21st century, have clad ourselves in the armor of materialism, lost in the obsession with preserving youth. We have abandoned the rituals
that once gave order to our ancestors’ mourning. We have erased death from our
daily lives so thoroughly that we can hardly imagine or comprehend it. Yet the end
begins at the beginning, and one cannot truly live who fears to behold the final page
of their story. So lift the visor of your helm, look death straight in the face, draw
a deep breath into your lungs — and dance.
